Refund Policy

We want you to be confident buying ReelText. This policy explains exactly what happens if you want your money back.
1. 30-Day Refund Window
You may request a refund within 30 calendar days of your original purchase date. The window begins on the date your payment is processed through Square — not the date you submit the transcript or receive the PDF. Requests submitted after the 30-day window are handled at our discretion as described in §4.
2. Two Refund Scenarios
Scenario A — Before pipeline runs (full refund, 100%)
If you have paid but have not yet submitted a transcript, or you submitted one but the pipeline has not started processing, contact us and we will refund 100% of your payment. This is rare given our typical turnaround (a few hours), but it does happen — you bought the wrong tier, the transcript wasn't ready in time, your show was cancelled. We process these without questions.
Scenario B — After PDF delivery (90% refund, 10% retained)
Once we have delivered the PDF, our preferred path is a free revision: reply to the delivery email and tell us what needs adjusting, and we'll turn around a revised version within 24 hours at no charge. If a revised version still does not meet expectations, you may request a refund within the 30-day window:
- 90% of the amount you paid is returned to your original payment method.
- 10% is retained by JK Creative as an operations and processing fee. This covers Square's payment-processing cost, the LLM and infrastructure cost of the pipeline run, email delivery, and support time associated with the refund.
Examples (per-episode tiers):

Refunds are issued to the original payment method on file with Square. Processing time is typically 5–7 business days depending on your bank or card issuer.
3. How to Request a Refund
Email reeltext@jkcreative.store with:
- Subject: Refund request
- Body: Your order ID (the SQ-... reference from your purchase confirmation) and a brief note on which scenario applies.
You will receive a confirmation reply within one business day acknowledging your request and the refund amount.
4. After 30 Days
We do not offer a guaranteed refund after the 30-day window has passed. If something has gone seriously wrong — for example, a defect we cannot reasonably fix, or a material service failure on our side — reach out at reeltext@jkcreative.store and describe the situation. Post-30-day requests are handled case by case and we will do our best to be fair. Outside the 30-day window this is discretionary on our side, but it does not limit any rights you may have under Washington consumer-protection law (RCW 19.86) or any mandatory consumer-protection law that applies where you reside.
5. What Happens When a Refund Is Processed
- Pipeline cancelled (Scenario A only). If the pipeline is still running when we process your refund, our system aborts the job before the PDF is generated. No PDF is delivered.
- Refund issued. We initiate the refund through Square to your original payment method within 5–7 business days. Depending on your bank or card issuer, the credit may take additional time to appear on your statement.
- Content purged. We delete your transcript and any generated PDF from our servers immediately upon refund (versus the standard 30-day retention described in our Privacy Policy).
6. Chargebacks
We strongly prefer that you email us before filing a chargeback with your bank or card issuer. We resolve virtually every refund request quickly and without involving the bank. A chargeback creates friction for you, adds card-network fees on our side, and typically takes longer than our direct refund process. Our door is always open at reeltext@jkcreative.store before you escalate.
If you file a chargeback without contacting us first:
- Your in-flight pipeline (if any) is suspended pending the outcome of the chargeback process.
- If the chargeback is resolved in your favor, no further refund is owed (you will have already been credited by your bank).
- We reserve the right to contest chargebacks we believe are filed in error or bad faith.
Nothing in this section limits your rights under card-network rules or applicable consumer-protection law.
7. Volume Orders and Custom Quotes
For multi-episode bulk orders or custom quotes (90+ minute episodes), the 30-day window applies separately to each episode in the order. Refunds for any single episode are calculated against that episode's allocated portion of the bulk price.
